The Massachusetts Bay Transportation
Authority (MBTA, or the T) runs the area's public transportation, including
the subway system, buses, and water taxis. Their Web site includes information
about getting around, schedules, and a trip planner.
Logan International
Airport is the closest
large airport. There are smaller airports nearby, like
Hanscom Field in
Bedford, Massachusetts,
Manchester Airport in
Manchester, New Hampshire,
and T.F. Green in
Providence, Rhode Island.
Amtrak stations close to
Harvard University include South
Station, Back Bay, and North Station. These stations also connect
to different subway and bus lines
of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. South Station
is on the same subway line, the Red Line, as Harvard's Cambridge campus.
Numerous commercial bus lines serve the Boston area.
